FIZE Medical has announced the first close of a Series B financing round co-led by Asahi Kasei Medical and Rapha Capital Management as the company works towards a US$20 million funding target.
The financing will support development of FIZE Medical’s next-generation FIZE Optima platform, which is being designed to provide predictive, AI-guided clinical decision support for fluid management in critically ill patients.
Fluid balance is a critical consideration in intensive and acute care, where both excessive and insufficient fluid administration can affect patient outcomes.
FIZE develops connected monitoring technologies designed to automate measurement of parameters including urine output and support clinicians managing fluid balance.
The company’s existing FIZE kUO system is already commercially available and is designed to replace manual urine-output measurement with continuous monitoring.
Asahi Kasei Medical currently distributes the FIZE kUO system in Japan and will expand distribution into European markets.
The Series B investment deepens the strategic relationship between the two companies beyond commercial distribution.
FIZE Optima is intended to move beyond monitoring towards predictive clinical decision support by applying AI to patient data and fluid-management workflows.
The company said the platform is being developed to help clinicians identify changes earlier and support more informed decisions in critical-care settings.
The funding will also support expansion of FIZE Medical’s commercial operations as adoption of connected monitoring and clinical decision-support technologies grows across hospitals.
The round reflects wider investment interest in technologies that combine continuous bedside monitoring with predictive analytics.
For critical-care teams, such systems could reduce manual workload while providing more consistent and timely physiological data.
FIZE Medical will continue developing FIZE Optima alongside the wider international rollout of its existing fluid-management technologies.
