To act as alchemist in adoption of Artificial Intelligence in gastroenterology
In a landmark move that underscores its commitment to advancing healthcare technology, eminent gastroenterologists in India got together to start Gastro AI Academy.
This pioneering initiative aimed at revolutionising the field of gastroenterology, where the academy will provide free AI education to gastroenterologists, or 'GI doctors', equipping them to improve patient care with advanced technology.
The vision of the academy is to ensure that our healthcare experts are future ready and empowered to use technology for the betterment of the society. Fujifilm India has joined hands as an academic partner for the launch of the first ever Gastro AI academy in India.
The academy was launched at an event at HN Reliance Hospital, Mumbai. The session was an amalgamation of insightful discussions, featuring lectures from both international and national gastroenterologists. The sessions explored the practical application of AI in various aspects of gastroenterology, including patient reporting, database management and predictive analysis. Special attention was given to the role of AI in diagnostic assistance and treatment planning, a tool crucial for the early detection of gastric and colon cancers. The potential of AI to enhance training programmes and support research and development in clinical practice was also a key focus.
Dr Amit Maydeo, Chairman at the Institute of Gastrosciences at HN Reliance Hospital, and a renowned Gastroenterologist emphasised the transformative power of AI in his address, stating, “The field of gastroenterology has been constantly evolving with latest innovations and technologies. Gastro AI Academy will bring together the top global AI experts to impart knowledge on AI, its ethical use and integration into the patient workflow. This academy aims to work towards improving the healthcare ecosystem in the most populous country of the world."
