HMI Medical has completed the acquisition of Lifescan Imaging, expanding its diagnostic and imaging network to seven centres across Singapore.
Lifescan Imaging operates three imaging centres in the Novena, Orchard and Farrer Park areas. The acquisition adds to HMI Medical’s existing radiology footprint across several of Singapore’s key medical hubs.
The combined network is supported by radiologists with subspecialty expertise in cardiovascular imaging, oncology, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging and other specialised fields.
HMI Medical said the expanded platform offers 15 advanced imaging modalities, including MRI and CT systems.
The expansion forms part of HMI Medical’s broader integrated healthcare model spanning preventive, primary, specialist and ambulatory care, with the aim of enabling patients to access diagnosis and follow-up care closer to home.

Diagnostic imaging is expected to play an increasingly important role as more healthcare services move beyond hospitals. By 2030, one in four Singapore residents is expected to be aged 65 and above, increasing demand for earlier detection and coordinated management of chronic and complex conditions.
Dr John Huang, Chief Radiologist at LifeScan Imaging, said conditions including cancer, cardiovascular disease and neurological disorders require both advanced imaging technology and subspecialty expertise to support accurate interpretation.
“Complex conditions such as cancer, cardiovascular disease and neurological disorders require more than just advanced imaging technology. Subspecialty expertise is also required to ensure that the scans are being interpreted accurately. Bringing these capabilities together enables our clinicians to ensure that patients are receiving the right treatment for their conditions,” he said.
HMI Medical said the expanded network is intended to support faster clinical decision-making and care coordination as more diagnostic and treatment services are delivered outside hospitals.

With the acquisition completed, HMI Medical now operates one of Singapore’s largest private radiology networks, with seven diagnostic and imaging centres across the country.
