Solta Medical’s Thermage Receives AAA Well-Known Trademark Certification in China

The recognition strengthens Thermage’s brand protection and market positioning in China’s medical aesthetics sector, where trust, authenticity and product integrity remain critical to adoption.

Bausch Health Companies and its aesthetic business Solta Medical have announced that Thermage has received AAA Well-Known Trademark Certification from the China Trademark Association.

The certification is the highest recognition in China’s domestic trademark evaluation system and places Thermage among 217 brands across mainland China that have received the distinction. For medical aesthetics, where brand trust, device authenticity and practitioner confidence are closely linked to commercial adoption, the certification has relevance beyond conventional marketing recognition.

Thermage is a non-invasive skin tightening technology with more than a decade of presence in China and over 5 million treatments performed worldwide. Its recognition in China comes as demand for non-invasive aesthetic treatments continues to grow, alongside increasing scrutiny around product legitimacy, treatment quality and consumer protection.

The AAA certification may support Solta Medical’s efforts to reinforce Thermage’s market position by providing a recognised “mark of trust” for consumers and practitioners. In categories such as energy-based aesthetic devices, trademark protection can help differentiate legitimate technologies from unauthorised or lower-quality alternatives, while supporting brand integrity across clinical and commercial channels.

The development also follows Solta Medical’s broader efforts to strengthen its China presence. In December 2025, the company completed the acquisition of its longtime China distribution partner, the Shibo Group’s aesthetics distribution business, giving Solta Medical direct responsibility for the distribution of Thermage FLX and other aesthetic devices in the Chinese market.

From a commercial perspective, the certification may support market confidence and channel governance, particularly as Solta Medical builds a more direct operating structure in China. Adoption and growth will still depend on practitioner training, device availability, patient affordability, competitive dynamics and continued confidence in treatment safety and outcomes.

The Thermage FLX system is indicated for dermatologic and general surgical procedures for electrocoagulation and hemostasis, as well as the non-invasive treatment of wrinkles, including wrinkles around the eyes. As the medical aesthetics market becomes more competitive, regulatory recognition, brand protection and local market infrastructure are likely to become increasingly important for companies seeking durable growth in China.
