Taiwan Excellence has concluded its participation at Medical Fair Asia 2026 in Singapore, showcasing technologies designed to address healthcare workforce shortages, clinical demand and ageing populations across ASEAN.
The Taiwan Excellence Pavilion, organised by the International Trade Administration and Taiwan External Trade Development Council, featured 16 MedTech brands under the theme “From Taiwan with Care - Activate the Future of Wellness”.
The three-day showcase focused on how Taiwan’s strengths in microelectronics, artificial intelligence and information and communications technology can be applied to healthcare challenges across Southeast Asia.
The pavilion also brought together regional representatives including Ambassador Dr Tung Chen-yuan, Chan Hai-Kiang of the Singapore Manufacturing Federation, ZC Chen of the Taiwan Medical Technology Industry Association and Megan Liu, Director of the TAITRA Singapore Office.
“Facing this staggering challenge of demographic change, last year Taiwan entered a super-aged society, and this year, Singapore too,” said Dr Tung.
“Because both of our societies face such similar challenges, I think Taiwan and Singapore can work together to pursue more advanced solutions and technology to solve these problems.”
ZC Chen said Taiwan’s ICT capabilities are increasingly being integrated with healthcare technologies across diagnostics and medical training.
The pavilion focused on practical clinical efficiency rather than static product demonstrations.
In smart ward and workload reduction, Wellell demonstrated an automated pressure-relief mattress system while AVer showcased AI-driven monitoring cameras designed to reduce physical demands on nursing teams while strengthening patient oversight.
Edge AI was another major area of focus.
IBASE showcased a 100-TOPS medical computing unit, while Axiomtek demonstrated a medical-grade edge AI computing platform designed to support localised, high-speed processing while keeping patient information secure.
The showcase also included technologies for preventive screening and rehabilitation, including Charder’s multi-frequency body composition analysis and Gee Hoo’s adaptive rehabilitation treadmills.
In surgical technology, EPED demonstrated its RETINA 3D optical navigation platform, which provides sub-millimetre tracking and real-time spatial guidance for surgical teams.
The pavilion was organised around a continuum of care.
The first zone focused on preventive wellness and included orthotic insoles, air filtration technologies, rehabilitation treadmills and rapid body-composition screening.
A second zone focused on outpatient and diagnostic care, featuring portable X-ray systems, rapid diagnostic analysers, smart tele-ICU technologies, edge computing modules and medical-grade storage solutions.
The final surgical zone focused on smart hospital infrastructure and operating room technologies, including surgical navigation, laparoscopic tools, ICU beds, pressure-relief mattresses and medical computing systems.
TAITRA is also using Medical Fair Asia as a platform to support wider ASEAN expansion for Taiwanese MedTech companies.
Upcoming initiatives include trade missions and targeted B2B matchmaking sessions across Southeast Asia, including the Taiwan Healthcare Pavilion at Taiwan Expo in the Philippines.
These activities are intended to connect Taiwanese technology providers with hospital groups, public health procurement agencies and medical device distributors.
TAITRA is also advancing its “Go Healthy with Taiwan” initiative to support pilot projects, technology transfers and co-development ventures between Taiwanese hardware companies and ASEAN healthcare partners.
“The strong commercial engagement over the past three days reinforces Singapore’s strategic role as the primary gateway for Taiwanese innovators expanding into Southeast Asia,” said Megan Liu, Director of the TAITRA Singapore Office.
She added that TAITRA’s priority is to convert the momentum generated at Medical Fair Asia into concrete commercial outcomes by working with local partners to streamline market entry, navigate regulatory frameworks and accelerate adoption of Taiwanese medical technologies across ASEAN.
